Our Producers

Hand Picked Farms

Our customers enjoy the best and freshest quality local foods in the area thanks to our farmers.

Although Norman's Farm Market currently operates a 60-acre farm in Howard County, Maryland, we also pride ourselves on our extensive network of local farms. We collaborate with farms in Montgomery County, MD; Adams County, PA; the eastern shore; the northern neck and all points in between. We relish our role in bridging the gap between small family farms to your kitchen table. Here are a few of the farms we currently work with to bring you the best selection of local produce in the DC area.

Norman's Farm Market is always looking for new farmers. If you are an agricultural producer within 100 miles from the Washington DC Metropolitan Area, please do not hesitate to contact us!

Here are a few of the farms that supply our roadside stands and CSA Program:

Lewis Orchards

Located in Dickerson, Maryland, between Poolesville and Beallsville. This family-owned business has been a treasured part of Montgomery County, Maryland since 1888. Robert and Linda Lewis are the fourth generation to own and operate Lewis Orchards. They have been providing Norman's Farm Market with such staples such as sweet corn, tomatoes, peaches, and vegetables since our humble beginnings. Our long-standing relationship is a testimony to their fantastic quality.

Beechwood Orchards Fruit Farm

A fifth generation, family-owned farm that has been operating in Adams County, Pennsylvania for over a century. They are members of the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture (PASA) and practice Integrated Pest Management (IPM). They provide Norman's Farm Market with a fantastic variety of fruit including peaches, plums, and apples. The farm is currently being run by David and Tammy Garretson. In 2005 they were joined by their son, Shawn Garretson after he graduated from Penn State with a degree in Horticulture. More recently Melissa Allen, their daughter, returned to the farm with her two young children, Isabelle and Cammy. They have already begun to show an interest in agriculture.

Oak Grove Farms

A family owned and operated farm established in the mid-1960's located in Adams County, Pennsylvania. The farm is operated by Dwayne Lebo and provides Norman's Farm Markets with our high tunnel tomatoes as well as many of our vegetables including kale, onions, tomatoes, and squash. They grow much of the vegetables for Norman's Farm Market throughout the season.

Fifer Orchards

Located in Camden, Delaware and founded in 1919, this fourth generation farm runs a top-notch operation and provide us with fantastic local strawberries and asparagus early in the season. Although located just 100 miles to our east and close to the shore, their warmer climate and sandy soil are perfect for growing these crops and allow them to harvest a couple weeks ahead of us.

Sharps at Waterford Farm

Located in Howard County, Maryland, is a 530-acre working farm. Denise & Chuck Sharp assist us with loads of farm advice and also by producing our transplants in their greenhouses. The farm is family-owned and operated since 1903 and offers activities for children of all ages and adults, as well.
