Blackened tuna steaks are personally one of my favorite meals. It never fails to make me feel luxurious, healthy and satisfied simultaneously. The clean flavor of a high-quality piece of tuna is unmatched, and on Norman’s website, we now have premium yellowfin tuna available. Using our Cajun Spice Blend from Mondepices, this is a super simple and delicious dinner to add to your repertoire.

Ingredients:

8-oz tuna steaks

2-3 tbsp cajun spice (enough to coat each piece)

2 tbsp butter

2 tbsp olive oil

Directions:

  1. Pat the tuna steaks dry and place them in a ziploc bag with cajun seasoning. Shake to distribute evenly.
  2. Add half of your olive oil and butter and preheat a cast iron skillet on medium high until the oil is almost smoking. Sear tuna for about 2 minutes on each side. I recommend opening your windows/doors because the house will become smoky.
  3. Flip your tuna steak and add the rest of your olive oil and butter to sear the next side for about 2 minutes. This will result in a medium rare tuna steak. Serve immediately
