This past week I attended the Mid-Atlantic Fruit & Vegetable Convention in Hershey, PA. The first thing I noticed upon approaching the registration desk was a pile of amish and mennonite hats on the coat rack and I knew I must be in the right place. Here I attended all kinds of lectures ranging from trends in the industry, to growing tips on certain crops, and the newest tools and technology. It was nice to be able to sit down and swap tales with the farm manager at Sharp’s Farm and discuss the upcoming season. This is a luxury we probably won’t be able to afford once things get too busy.
What I’m really excited about this week was initiating a new design for our trucks. They are our moving billboards transporting goods to our stands and CSA pickups. While perusing vintage farm posters for inspiration I started thinking how cool it would be to render our own farm in that style. I started contemplating colors and digging up photos of our crew, equipment and panoramic views. Enjoy your delivery this week.
