We are constantly searching for the best of the best to bring our customers and members, and when we stumbled upon Firefly Farms goat cheeses, we knew this was it. Meet Mike and Pablo, the proud founders of Maryland’s own Firefly Farms. This award-winning establishment has been producing high-quality, 100% handcrafted cheese for 20 years, and we are so glad to be carrying their unique and unbeatable products at our markets these days. With just four natural, simple ingredients, FireFly goes above and beyond to create cheeses that stand apart from the rest. As lovers of our community here in Maryland, we appreciate every effort FireFly Farms makes to give back. For starters, their milk comes from farms within 30 miles of their creamery, located near Deep Creek, Maryland. They turn this milk into the cheese we love in a facility that utilizes renewable energy and environmentally friendly processes. The owners also pride themselves on creating a sustainable environment for our community through jobs and traditional, hands-on cheese-making practices without machinery, a choice that is immediately and directly beneficial to the people around them. When a company works this hard to do good and make a good product, it isn’t easy to find any better.
