Gourmet Update

One thing about Norman’s is that we are committed to feeling good about what we bring to our customers. We care about giving you all the very best food that makes you and your family feel great, and we are always looking for new fantastic producers around us to help us do that. The local food community is a well-connected and impressive network that has introduced us to products and people who remind us why we put so much energy into carefully sourcing where everything comes from. Read more to find out about a few new businesses we’re working with…

Murdoch Mushrooms @ Common Root Farm: This small farm in Derwood, MD, has been supplying our blue oyster and lion’s mane mushrooms! They are pride themselves on being an organic, diverse, and ecologically sound farm. They are a young business, having just started in 2018, so we are glad to be bringing their great mushrooms out to our markets!

Woodberry Kitchen: Located in Baltimore, MD, Woodberry is a modern farm-to-table American restaurant owned by James Beard Award Winner Spike Gjerde. They are also known for their pantry items, as they preserve fresh and peak-season vegetables in hot sauces, jams, and more. We’ve started carrying their housemade sweet and savory jams and their famous Snake Oil, a zesty hot sauce made with fish peppers.

Black House Coffee Roasters: Having coffee is an addition that we’ve wanted to add for a while, but we were waiting for something as good as this business. Black House is a small, family-owned, local roasting business that specializes in African coffee beans and believes in the connective powers of sharing a great cup of coffee. You may have seen them at our pop-up markets recently, as sometimes they come with samples! Keep an eye out for them at our future pop-ups.

New items like artisanal spices, local duck breast, and sweet petite oysters are available for pre-order for our New Years Pop-up! Place a pre-order to assure you get all the best choices you are looking for.
