Welcome to the 2020 CSA Season! Despite what the world is currently going through, we are still planting and getting ready for a fruitful season! We realize now, more than ever, how important fresh, local produce is and we can’t wait to get started!
Because of COVID-19 we are modifying the way we conduct our CSA pickups and will continue to monitor guidelines given by the CDC, WHO, and Governor Hogan throughout the season.
We will start off the season by implementing a curb-side pickup/ drive thru for everyone (whether you are in a car, on a bike, or on foot), with the exception of those who cannot come to pickup at all due to critical health risks. For those that cannot make it to the pick up we will provide delivery for a $5 charge. We are limited with deliveries and trying to keep them as affordable as possible. Please understand that we cannot do delivery for everyone and really want to reserve that for the population that is the most at risk.
We would also encourage our members and community to organize a volunteer network for deliveries so more members could be served by this at perhaps even no charge. We are definitely a proponent of community activism and involvement and would work together to make sure to follow safety guidelines.
In regards to the logistics of our current plan which we are still working through:
- We will email each CSA member a form 2-3 days before your pickup to choose your produce for the week. This email will include all of your choices with directions on how many picks based on size of share. It will also ask for alternate choices in case we run out of something.
The email will also have a sign up schedule. We would like to schedule 10 members at a time in 15 minute blocks to minimize bottle necking and wait times. The forms should be submitted to us 24 hours before pickup. Please print and bring with you as a backup as well. - All staff and members will observe CDC guidelines such as social distancing. Staff will wear gloves, possibly masks, and will frequently sanitize tables, crates, and all surfaces. We will pack your produce in paper bags on site (this is to ensure we do not take bags from your home and will be the cleanest and least expensive way to distribute produce.
- This is new for us and we appreciate your patience. Please expect that there may be delays at first while we work out the kinks. Also if you have ideas or concerns that may help us improve our systems please share.
For delivery: We will pack your produce in bags and deliver your produce during the two hour CSA window or just following it. We will leave your bag on your front porch or at the front desk of your apartment/condo. We will not be able to go upstairs or up elevators to drop off produce.
