These are summer’s last peaches soaked in your choice of red or white wine, a touch of sugar, and few dashes of lemon juice. My sister was talking about this being one of her favorite desserts she used to eat in Italy, so I had to try it!  These treats are the perfect end-of-summer dessert to pair with vanilla ice cream or just eat straight out of the jar with a fork! You can even use this as a delicious base for sangria. Try mixing this peach/wine syrup with prosescco for a fruity and tasty drink!

Ingredients:

  • 6-8 yellow or white peaches (peeled, sliced)
  • about 2 tbsp of freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp of sugar
  • 2-3 cups of red or white wine (use more wine if needed, I used pinot noir and pinot grigio)

Directions:

In a large jar with a lid, add your sliced peaches. Pour in the sugar, lemon juice, and wine. Make sure there is enough wine to cover all the peaches entirely. Seal tightly with lid and allow to sit in the fridge for at least two hours.

Serve by grabbing the peaches with a fork and adding to a bowl with a scoop of icecream.
