Roasted Cabbage Steaks


  • Green cabbage
  • Olive oil (or any oil of your preference)
  • Salt, garlic powder, paprika to taste
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat!)


  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Cut the stems off the cabbage head(s) and cut the cabbage into one-inch thick “steaks”.
  3. Place the cabbage steaks on a baking sheet that is lined with parchment paper, allowing some space between each one.
  4. Brush each cabbage steak with olive oil, coating them thoroughly. Then generously sprinkle the salt, garlic powder, and paprika on the cabbage steaks.
  5. Flip the cabbage steaks over and repeat, brushing the other sides with oil and spices. Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to each one, if desired.
  6. Bake the cabbage steaks for about 25 minutes, until the leaves are browned and the center is tender. Serve hot out of the oven.
