It’s great to end the season with something new and rekindle that spirit of offering a truly unique and wonderful item to the Norman’s community. We are so excited to announce, Smoked Salmon, for pick-up during our last CSA of the season this weekend, 12/14 & 12/15. The Faroe Islands are world renowned for having the best quality salmon noted for its meaty flavor with buttery texture. The salmon are overnighted fresh to our contact in Annapolis where it is cured, smoked and sliced. From order to finished product is only about 48 hours!
We’ve been enjoying this salmon on special occasions for the past couple years, always noting how it is the best we’ve ever tasted. It was just recently at an intimate dinner party with close friends that we brainstormed a way to make this available to our members and customers. On the heels of yet another successful Thanksgiving Turkey distribution I started thinking about the possibility of offering some new products to distribute side by side with all the fresh produce from our CSA. Essentially using the same business model as we do for turkeys. This opportunity seems like a no brainer just in time for the holidays.
The salmon averages about 3 lb per side and makes for an amazing platter. It should keep for about two weeks in refrigeration or can be frozen as well. In the past we have even cut into thirds and frozen certain portions for later. We are starting off with only 10 units,so Reserve yours now!
